Kimberly Zimmer moved to California from her hometown in Pennsylvania after receiving her Masters Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. For the last 5+ years, Kim has had extensive experience working with clients in inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings specializing in trauma-informed and mindfulness-based modalities.
As an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor working within the mental health field, Kim was exposed to both the benefits and the limitations of talk therapy for individuals diagnosed with PTSD. Understanding the importance of the mind-body connection for healing, she was eager to explore a therapeutic space with clients beyond the realm of traditional therapy. She is excited to be given the opportunity to contribute to and grow with the Healing Wave Aquatics team! Kim is also a certified yoga instructor and from both personal and professional experience, has seen immense healing when the body is given permission to let go and relax.
In Kim’s free time, you can find her lifting weights at the gym, playing matkot at the beach, cooking, practicing yoga, going on adventures, and spending time with her friends.
