Justin grew up outside of Hershey, PA where he joined the Marine Corps shortly after High School in 2003. His first duty station was MCAS Miramar in San Diego where he served as an Aviation Ordnance Technician. During his active-duty time, he was deployed to Iraq in 2004 where he volunteered to stay for a consecutive 6-month tour. He was also deployed to Southeast Asia on the 31st MEU (Marine Expeditionary Unit). He joined the Marine Corps Reserves after his active-duty time. In 2013 with the downsizing of the military, Justin was unfortunately one of the ones cut. Still feeling the call to serve and knowing he wasn’t done, he joined the Air Force Reserve as a Security Forces (Military Police) member out of March Air Reserve Base in Moreno Valley, CA. Here he deployed to Kuwait as well as most recently Africa. He is currently in process of being medically retired from the military after 22+ years of service.
Shortly after coming back from his latest deployment, Justin was struggling with PTSD, depression, & anxiety. He was recommended to reach out to HWA by a friend and he will happily tell you how life changing of a decision this was!
For the past 10 years Justin has been producing, selling, & emceeing Corporate Team Building events in Southern California with Feet First Eventertainment. He has been the emcee for the HWA at the Bay (annual fundraiser) for the past two years. With a strong passion for helping fellow Veterans and personally being a part of the healing that IS being done, Justin is extremely excited to be involved and combine his public speaking / emceeing abilities and to spread the word about the amazing work that is being done at Healing Waves Aquatics.
