Executive Director
Elizabeth Berg is a San Diego native who loves her community. Elizabeth has 25 years of experience in non-profit leadership roles in San Diego that span development, communications, strategic planning and partnership building. Before joining the organization in 2017, Elizabeth built a breadth of experience in some of San Diego's larger social service, educational, and arts and culture sectors. Elizabeth credits her role at Healing Wave Aquatics to help deepen her understanding of the challenges faced by two important Navy veterans in her life: her father, a Vietnam veteran, and her father-in-law, a WWII veteran.
Elizabeth is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) and she served on the BOD of the Association of Fundraising Professionals from 2016-2018. She has a master’s in journalism from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and her bachelor's from University of California, Davis. Elizabeth and her husband have a son and daughter, who are recent graduates of UCLA. On the weekends, you'll find Elizabeth near the ocean or the pool; she has a passion for the water as a place to swim, surf, play and reflect.
